Brad Pitt's Blockbuster Hits: His Highest-Grossing Movies
$321.4 Million
Inglourious Basterds is a rollicking film set during World War II, where Pitt portrayed the high-octane Allied soldier Lieutenant Aldo Raine – the hardened leader of a group known as the "Basterds," who were notoriously and justly brutal in their fight against the Nazis.
Raine burst into the film as a charismatic leader motivated by his hatred for the Nazis, and fiercely loyal to his fellow soldiers in the European theater of the second World War.
Beneath all his bravado, however, Aldo Raine was compassionate, and Pitt played this surprisingly nuanced character to perfection.
Pitt's frequent collaborator Quentin Tarantino helmed the film.
Inglourious Basterds had a budget of $70 million; it grossed $120.5 million in Canada and the United States and $200.9 million, clocking a grand total of $321.4 million worldwide.
