After graduating from medical school, Dr. Ben Carson became a board-certified neurosurgeon and was offered a job at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. Ben worked there as a resident neurosurgeon and based on his excellent performance, he became a hotspot for international hospitals. At that time, neurosurgeons were in demand because there were few doctors who specialized in this field of medicine. Dr Ben Carson was invited in 1983 to work at Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital in Perth, Australia.
However, after a few months of practice at SCGen Australia, Ben returned to his base in Baltimore and continued to work with Johns Hopskin Hospital in 1985. After a year of practice, Ben was promoted and became director of pediatric neurosurgery. He also worked as co-director at the craniofacial center of the same hospital.
