Aaliyah tragically died on August 25, 2001, in a plane crash shortly after filming the music video for "Rock the Boat" in the Bahamas. The official investigation concluded that the crash was caused by pilot error and overloading of the aircraft. However, some fans remain skeptical of this explanation.
According to the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB), the pilot, Luis Morales III, was unqualified to fly the aircraft at night and had traces of cocaine and alcohol in his system. These findings fueled speculation among conspiracy theorists who believe the truth has been concealed.
