Childhood and Musical Beginnings
John Denver's early life was marked by constant moves due to his father's career in the U.S. Air Force. Despite the challenges of frequent relocations, Denver found solace in music. His mother, who was an avid pianist, introduced him to classical music, while his father's love for country and western tunes further shaped his musical tastes.
Denver's first exposure to playing an instrument came at the age of 12 when he learned to play the guitar. This skill would later become the foundation of his successful career. His early influences included artists like Hank Williams, Woody Guthrie, and The Beatles, all of whom inspired his unique style of songwriting.
