The term OEE was invented in the 1960s by the Japanese pioneer and creator of the Total Productive Maintenance system, Seiichi Nakajima.
How do you calculate defect rate?
The formula for defect rate is the amount of defective products observed divided by the number of units tested. For example, if 10 out of 200 tested units are defective, the defect rate is 10 divided by 200, or 5 percent. Defect rate is often stated in terms of defects per million.
How is OEE calculated in manufacturing?
OEE is calculated by multiplying the three OEE factors: Availability, Performance, and Quality.
How do you calculate return on performance?
The basic rate of return takes the gain for the portfolio and divides by the (original) investment amount. If there are no flows to a portfolio, then you simply take the Ending Value (EV) and subtract the Beginning Value (BV) to get the gain (or loss), and then divide by that starting value.
